This course is an introduction to the 3-D design skills that are so important to installation, public art, or other sculpture projects. Students learn Form-Z, a computer program used for drafting and 3-D modeling. Designs developed through Form-Z are actualized as physical 3-D models in varied scales. Class assignments guide students toward the application of these architecture and design skills toward their own sculptural ideas. Slides and reading provide the historical context for this approach to understanding the concept of space in sculpture practice.
